Sats to USD Calculator
Instantly see the value of your satoshis in Bitcoin and US dollars.
How it works
The calculator fetches the current Bitcoin price on page load and refreshes it every 60 seconds so every conversion is based on live data.
Enter a USD amount, a BTC amount, or a number of satoshis. The other two fields update instantly - the field you are currently editing is never overwritten.
The BTC/USD rate and sats-per-dollar figure below the inputs give you quick context for every conversion.

Frequently asked questions
A Satoshi (sat) is the smallest unit of Bitcoin. 1 BTC = 100,000,000 sats. Named after Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, the denomination lets you work with fractions of a Bitcoin as whole numbers, which is easier to reason about at high BTC prices.
Sats → BTC → USD: first divide sats by 100,000,000 to get BTC, then multiply BTC by the current Bitcoin price. For example, 1,000,000 sats ÷ 100,000,000 = 0.01 BTC. At $62,000/BTC, 0.01 BTC = $620.
The sat has no fixed fiat value, it floats with Bitcoin's price. At $62,000/BTC, 1 sat = $0.00062. At $100,000/BTC, 1 sat = $0.001. This calculator always uses a live price from the API so the conversion stays accurate.
Sats per $1 = 100,000,000 ÷ BTC price. At $62,000/BTC: 100,000,000 ÷ 62,000 ≈ 1,613 sats per dollar. At $100,000/BTC, exactly 1,000 sats per dollar, a clean milestone Bitcoiners sometimes call the '1000 sats per dollar' level.
1 BTC = 1,000 mBTC (milliBitcoin) = 100,000,000 sats (Satoshi). mBTC is rarely used today. Most wallets and the Lightning Network now quote amounts in sats, making the satoshi the de-facto small denomination for Bitcoin.
Sats are preferred for small amounts and everyday thinking, 'stacking sats' is the common idiom. BTC is more useful for portfolio tracking and large amounts. For precision when computing returns, keep full 8-decimal BTC precision; convert to sats for display only.
